Knackstedt, Bruins agree

Posted by Kevin Paul Dupont, Globe Staff October 14, 2008 06:15 PM

Jordan Knackstedt, the former Red Deer Rebel forward, has agreed to a three-year contract with the Bruins. The deal, the standard two-way pact signed by entry-level players, pays a range of $475,000-$550,000 at the NHL level over the three years of the contract.

Knackstedt, currently with the Providence WannaBs, will earn $92,500 per year in the minor leagues, some 40 percent of it in an annual signing bonus.

Knackstedt, 20 years old, is a 6-foot-2-inch, 195-pound winger. He was selected 189th overall in the 2007 draft.

  1. Good. I'm glad this hasn't turned into another Boynton issue with the guy not signed until 10+ games into the season, every bloody year.

  1. PC actually seems to be pretty good at getting RFA's locked up. A little different being this is the kids first contract.

Glad they held on to this kid. He's got great size, can fight and can finish. Probably won't turn out to be more than a 3rd liner, but good to have him none-the-less. He put up some big numbers in Jr's. Hopefully he can do it in the A too.
