Some streak

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff October 15, 2008 09:55 AM

The Bruins have not beaten the Canadiens in a regular-season match since March 3, 2007, when they scored a 3-1 win at TD Banknorth Garden. Montreal has won 11 straight regular-season meetings, the Canadiens' longest active winning streak against any team. Boston's last victory at the Bell Centre took place on Dec. 4, 2006 (6-5).

* Georges Laraque (groin), Christopher Higgins (groin), and Francis Bouillon (leg) will not play tonight.

* The Canadiens will kick off their centennial celebration tonight. This is Montreal's home opener.

* Tonight will be Aaron Ward's 700th NHL game.

* Marc Joannette and Bill McCreary will be the referees tonight. Mark Pare and Dan Schachte will be the linesmen.
