* Paul Stastny will be getting a whole lot more coin starting next season.
Dough well-deserved for one of the game's brightest young talents.
* Fernando Pisani is out with a busted ankle.
Craig MacT could get MacWhacked at this rate.
* Dany Heatley gets the Full MacGregor.
Yet another gem from perhaps Canada's finest writer.

Fluto, what is your opinion on some of the calls going against Boston lately? The Rangers had a few 5 on 3's, the Leafs got another one last night, and I'm still trying to figure out what Chara did to Blake at the 14 minute mark to negate the Boston PP.
Great news for the Avs (my other team)
Stastny is the future captain of this team when Super Joe decides to hang them up and based on other contracts signed recently this seems like it could be a bargain.
Stastny will be getting a base salary of $6.6 million next year. The B's signed Ryder for $4 million per year this year and Bergeron to approximately $4.75 per year in the summer of 2006. Kessel, like Stastny, will be coming off his rookie contract after this season...how much is he projected to make?
Fluto, B's got a rare Friday night game at the Garden. Besides the annual day game after Thanksgiving and excluding playoffs, when is the last time the Bruins had a home Friday night game? I have been a fan for a long time and I don't recall one. Friday's have usually been reserved for the Celtics.
Fluto ... MacGregor is a helluva scribe, but Gare Joyce and Chris Jones, to name two, would also be challenging for that title.
JD I think Kessel will be less, while Kessel has improved vastly this season, Stastny has already proven to be a leader and I can guarentee within 3 years he will be the captain of the Avs and I think he's a more well rounded player. Plus hes averaging a point per game in his career. 164gp 55g 109a 164pts. Kessels numbers right now are: 170gb 38g 40a 78pts
I'd say if Kessel keeps it up this season he'll get around Bergys contract.
Friday home game: Very rare. Dupont couldn't remember the last one. And he's been around since T-Rex.
Refereeing: Am of the belief that all calls eventually balance out. But yes, was hard to see what Chara did to Blake against the boards last night.
As bad as some calls have been this season, none worse than the phantom hold against Lucic the other night, the calls so far have been less bad than last year.
