Morning briefing

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff November 21, 2008 10:45 AM

Good morning from TD Banknorth Garden, where the Bruins are preparing for their match tonight against Florida.

Some tidbits from the pre-game notes:

* The Bruins haven't beaten Florida at the Garden since Nov. 3, 2005. The Panthers are one of only two teams in the NHL with a winning record in Boston. Minnesota is the other.

* Not exactly game-breaking numbers from UFA-to-be Jay Bouwmeester: 0-7--7, minus-8 in 18 games. Bouwmeester is averaging a league-high 28:28 of TOI per game.

* The Panthers are 0-5-0 in games where they trail after the first period.

* Paul Devorski and Ian Walsh will be the referees. Brian Murphy and Derek Nansen will be the linesmen.

  1. Any indication how Wideman is after that hit he took Wednesday night? He looked pretty dazed right after the hit...

  1. Fluto any chance the Bruins look at a deal for Bouwmeester and what it might take to get him?
