Sturm: 'Very doubtful'

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff November 19, 2008 11:51 AM

According to Claude Julien, Marco Sturm is "very doubtful" to play tonight against Buffalo.

Julien said Sturm is bothered by an upper-body ailment. Sturm was on the ice for the final minute of Monday's 3-2 win over Toronto. Sturm didn't participate in the morning skate.

If Sturm is unable to go, Petteri Nokelainen will be in the lineup. Nokelainen has been a healthy scratch for the last five games.

  1. What is it with all the injuries year after year in Boston? Are we so unlucky or is it the medic staff that is average? Man...

  1. Marcan - nothing unusual. All teams go through it, some teams just seem to have worse luck than others. So far this year it hasn't been too bad, doesn't sound like Sturm will be out for an extended period of time. (knock on wood)

  1. No reason Niko or Sbotka can't be plugged right in and produce.

  1. I'd worry more about injuries if it was obvious the team was suffering, but the way the B's have been getting production all through their lineup, any one or two minor injuries don't seem so bad. Look how they did with Kobasew out of the lineup. Though I always love seeing the Marco Sturm Face after a goal so it's always sad when he's not in the lineup...
