  1. Shouldn't Schaefer be off the books as well?

  1. I hear NJ needs a goalie....

  1. The number that still sticks out...

    Fernandez, $4.33 million

Come on...in what universe is this guy still worth that much??? I don't see him ever living up to the numbers implied by that salary.

  1. Another nice catch! Thanks Sean. Sorry for the errors, folks. All fixed.

  1. I also hear NJ is desperate.... And didn't we just read that Sobotka will be back next weekend with no explanation given? Let the rumors fly!

  1. Who comes out if Chuckie is good to go Thursday? Nokki has been playing well. Can you take him out? Yelle plays alot of important minutes (PK, defensive situations). Need to have Thorts in just in case something happens. ANy ides folks. My guess is Nokki.

  1. Zdeno hasn't lived up to his monster contract so far this season and neither has Manny. Thomas and Fernandez's salaries should be swapped! The bottom 5 forwards all deserve a raise, especially Thorny. 70 games to go - we'll see who lives up to their earnings. That Murray buy-out sure isn't helping.

  1. Murray's buy-out will help next year. The big killer right now is Fernadez. Boston is playing top-line money to its back-up goalie.

  1. paying fernandez that type of money for a backup is the equivalent of the red sox paying lugo last year. both are past their prime expensive backups.

  1. Any chance the B's could swap Fernandez for Brian Gionta? Gionta will be an UFA after the season and is making $4 mil this year. The problem would be the cap hit when they brought up Rask, which is like $3.2 mil, I think.

  1. Totally off topic, Tim Thomas was left off the all star ballot. Yet another snub for the team MVP.

  1. Steve - no there is no chance of that

  1. The previous post reads that Sobotka will be called back up to Boston after this weekend. If/When this happens, what happens to that 750K? Does a pro-rated amount go back on the books?

  1. It all goes back on the books. And the Bruins have no chance at all of moving Fernandez. No one else wants our over paid garbage.
