Murray correction

Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff December 3, 2008 01:37 PM

Glen Murray's grievance hearing is scheduled to take place in Toronto on Dec. 16, not Jan. 17 as reported in yesterday's Globe. At issue is whether the Bruins improperly bought out Murray because of an existing ankle injury.

  1. I realize that this is not geramin to the topic of your post, however, at some point could possibly update the status of Swedish prospect Carl Soderberg. How is he doing for Malmo this year. Could he possibly be expected to be signed this spring?

  1. Is it true that Murray's agent told other teams he was healthy?

  1. From my understanding, he shopped himself around to other teams as healthy, and then when that didn't result in a contract, he went this route. I can hardly say I blame him. I think if nothing else, this could help the Bruins as they would then be able to wipe his salary off the books with LTIR and then they would have extra cap space to try to make a move with. I'll be curious to see how this all plays out.
