Thomas off first

Tim Thomas was the first goalie off the ice this morning, indicating he'll start tonight against the Penguins.

* Matt Lashoff will most likely be the healthy scratch.

* With Hal Gill back in the lineup, the Penguins will dress seven defensemen, with Alex Goligoski taking some shifts up front.

  1. Axelsson anywhere above the 3rd line makes me sick.
    I am glad he is on the team, but his offensive skills are very very limited. Actually though, he probably has one of the strongest dump and chases in the league

  1. Agreed about Axelsson. I thought the Axy as a first-liner experiment was over. To demonstrate what a bad idea it is, realize who first thought of it: Dave Lewis. Not only is he stifling the other teams' offenses, but this year he seems to be stifling the offense of anyone who is playing on the same line as he is...Anyone seen Chuck Kobasew lately???

    Do you actually understand the hockey you do watch? I suspect not. Gill in 812 games coming into tonight is +61 in his career. neither of those numbers comes accidentally or as a result of luck. Most of the guys drafted ahead of Gill haven't played that many games, and can't claim that high a +/-.
