Aaron Ward will not travel to Florida, but he is out of the walking boot and progressing with his injury (most likely a sprained ankle).
"If things go well, he could be on the ice Sunday or Monday and ready to go again," said Claude Julien. "It was definite that he wasn't going to play these next two games and wouldn't be able to skate until the beginning of next week. Things are going well in his case, and let's cross our fingers that things keep going that way."
Julien said he will determine tomorrow morning whether Marco Sturm will return to the lineup against the Lightning. Julien acknowledged Sturm is not 100 percent yet.
Julien has not decided whether Matt Lashoff or Johnny Boychuk will get the call tomorrow.
Shawn Thornton was among some of the Bruins giving Patrice Bergeron grief for his appearance on the cover of Improper Bostonian. Thornton cracked at how well computers cleaned up Bergeron's picture.
Blake Kessel, Phil's younger brother, was named today to the Team USA roster for the World Junior Championship. The younger Kessel is a freshman defenseman at the University of New Hampshire.
saw Blake Kessel play at BC a few weeks ago, nice puck moving D man!
How cool is that for Phil, having your younger bro playing hockey just up I-93, and for Blake being able to watch Phil play live in beantown.
I love hearin the stuff about the guys rippin on each other. It reinforces the public view that the Bruins are a lighthearted bunch of players and enjoy playing with each of their teammates, which if the Patriots and Red Sox are any indication, is a good recipe for success.
Of course, we need look no further than the 16-4-4 record we're currently boasting. Go B's!
Good to hear Ward is already out of the boot...hopefully its nothing too serious
Saw Blake Kessel last weekend at UNH, good player...but he's no Phil!
Blake Kessel = Blake Wheeler + Phil Kessel?
Maybe, but wow, do the two youngsters for the Bs look good this year.
