Still no telling when Patrice Bergeron, recovering from a second concussion in 14 months, will make it back to the Boston lineup. He skated the full hour-plus workout in Wilmington this afternoon and engaged in light-to-moderate contact, which is to be taken as a promising sign.

Coach Claude Julien said it is a possibility that the veteran center, who broke into the NHL as a winger, might enter the lineup as a winger when the time comes for him to return.

''He might...that depends on our lineup,'' said Julien, noting the many injuries his roster has sustained this season. ''He can play the wing, and that gives us more help in that area.''

Earlier, when asked if he might come back to wing rather than center, Bergeron said, ''I don't know....I'm used to playing middle now....wing was four years ago,,,and it's an adjustment.''
