The Bruins had an optional skate this morning. Not skating: Dennis Wideman, P.J. Axelsson, Chuck Kobasew, Stephane Yelle, Shawn Thornton, Zdeno Chara, Shane Hnidy, Michael Ryder, and Marc Savard.

Andrew Ference, Milan Lucic, and Patrice Bergeron were the last skaters off the ice. None of the three will play tonight.

* Matt Lashoff will play his second straight game without a visor. Lashoff said his peripheral vision is slightly better without the shield.

* Claude Julien said Aaron Ward (charley horse) has been skating at Ristuccia Arena. Julien said Ward might be available for Monday's matinee against St. Louis.
