Sturm: Surgery next week
Marco Sturm will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. GM Peter Chiarelli said there is a good likelihood that the ACL will need repair too.
Sturm is most likely out for the rest of the year.
Chiarelli said he'd first look to his organizational depth to replace Sturm, then seek help from around the league. Chiarelli said he has not been actively pursuing a trade for up-front help.
