Second period

4:30 -- Ex-Bruin Sergei Samsonov is felled by an Aaron Ward slapper. Hit off one of the ankles, Samsonov hobbles to the bench and then is helped down the runway to the dressing room. The Magical Muscovite returns later in the period.

5:34 -- David Krejci beats Rod Brind'Amour on a faceoff to Cam Ward's left, pulling it back to the right point, and Shane Hnidy connects on a long wrister from inside the blue line, with Vladimir Sobotka providing a screen in the slot. Bruins, 2-1.

6:03 -- Stephane Yelle whistled off for hooking.

8:15 -- Bergeron appears to take a stick up around the nose or one of his eyes, but it's not serious. Trainer Don Del Negro consults with him briefly on bench. Bergeron rolls over boards for his next shift at 9:26 to work the power-play point.

9:23 -- Rod Brind'Amour whistled off for tripping. Bruins send out first-unit power play of Marc Savard between P.J. Axelssona and
Chuck Kobasew with Chara and Bergeron at points.

10:40 -- Phil Kessel cuts in off right wing and his doorstep attempts bleeds through Cam Ward's pads but does not go over the line.

End of 40 minutes: Bruins, 2-1.
