Tim Thomas (flu-like symptoms) and Patrice Bergeron (foot) were given the second straight day off today. Both will be ready for the second round.

* Andrew Ference made it through the entire practice without limitations. Ference went through some post-practice on-ice work with strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides. Ference is expected to be ready for the start of the second round.

* The big controversy today was Manny Fernandez going full blast on a can of Lysol to his equipment after practice and gassing up the dressing room. With his face over his shirt, Mark Stuart started complaining, while Aaron Ward also started the cease-and-desist pleas. A smiling Fernandez kept on going.

* The Bruins are off tomorrow. They will resume practice on Monday at 11 a.m. at Ristuccia Arena.
