With a 2-1 win over the Rangers, Washington has booted New York from the playoffs.

The Bruins must now await the outcome of the Devils-Hurricanes game. If New Jersey wins, the Bruins will face Pittsburgh in the second round. If Carolina wins, the Bruins will play the Hurricanes.
