Strange season for Metropolit

Old friend Glen Metropolit, back in town with the Canadiens, said it's been one of the most unique years of his career. Metropolit signed with Philadelphia last summer and was waived by the Flyers on Feb. 26. The next day, prior to a Philadelphia-Montreal match at the Bell Centre, the Canadiens claimed Metropolit, forcing the center to play against his old team that night.
"We fired [Guy Carbonneau] the first week that I was here and Bob Gainey took over," said Metropolit. "It was like Super Bowl Sunday every day in that dressing room with all the media. It was pretty crazy. At the same time, with the adversity we went through as a team, I think it really helped us right now. We've got two big games coming up. Everybody knows how important they are, obviously, with where we stand in the playoff race."
Metropolit will center the No. 3 line between Christopher Higgins and Mathieu Dandenault tonight.
