Dupont: Bruins left feeling unfulfilled

Posted by Chris Forsberg, Boston.com Staff May 18, 2009 02:03 PM

The Globe's Kevin Paul Dupont recaps the Bruins' end-of-the-year breakup day at the Garden, where -- despite emerging news that Boston battled the injury bug far more than it might have been known during the postseason -- the team was still left feeling unfulfilled after falling to Carolina in Game 7 of an Eastern Conference semifinal series.

  1. Who needs the Boston Bruins when we have the Providence Bruins? Now that is a team who plays with passion and heart!!

  1. Carl read the article on their injuries before you make an ass of yourself.

  1. more injuries than i expected. to all you bandwagon morons, yes injuries are part of the game but rotator cuff and labrum, hip surgery ...broken ribs....let's just say big papi and the boys wouldn't be playing. hockey players are definitely a rare breed when it comes to any sport and the nfl of course. maybe it wasn't heart involved maybe the injuries had a little something to do with it. there is a difference between playing with a tweaked shoulder and playing with a torn labrum and rotator cuff. dissapointed in losing to carolina ...yes ........no passion or heart doubt it!!

  1. They have plenty of heart and talent! Try putting on skates and playing that level all season with injuries. You can't be a Bruin unless you play with passion and heart!! No matter what the Bruins organization is top notch, these guys deserve a "job well done"!!

I'm a Montreal Canadiens fan, how do you think I feel:) Enough with laughs and chuckels....24 Stanley Cups!!!!

  1. Man! I'm disapointed by the end of the season for sure but given that the team made another step forward winning a playoff round and the fact that they apparently were banged up beyond belief, you have to been happy with the overall effort and season and I for one can't wait for the 09'/10' season to begin. I'm a BIG TIME David Krejci fan and want to send my sincere best wishes to him and the other Bruins facing surgery this offseason for a quick & speedy recovery. Thanks again to the entire Bruins organization & team for a great season!

  1. They get paid very well to play a game. Sure, it is arguably the toughest game, but all playoff teams have injuries at this time of the year. B's went out with a wimper in game 7, though. No excuses, the team played a game 7 at home not to lose. Why not to win the series? Huge disappointment, not to be confused with bitterness, with this team.

  1. Injuries are no excuse. Montreal had injuries but nobody here gave that consideration and thought of that as a cheap excuse. All teams have injuries & are kept under wraps.
Where was the rest of the team that didn't have these injuries. Where was the production from those players? Speaking of which, if anyone has to get moved up front, I hope its Bergeron & his 4.5M salary.
