  1. The third vid is Lucic in front of Bergy's locker--not Bergy.

  1. Our take: the first goal was interesting; Julien had rolled all four lines while Maurice had gone 1, 2, then back to 1. Score one Julien.

Watching the Canes, you realize how dirty the Habs play.

  1. Either the Canes are way over-matched or that was the result of physical/emotional toll of the NJD series.

Looks there is a very good chance the Bruins can start the playoffs 8-0.

  1. I have to say one more thing - I don't understand this Monty over Hnidy decision. I know Hnidy is no star and isn't going to make the highlight reel, but he is tough and accountable for his D responsiblity, Very misleading +2 for Monty. He was on D when Canes scored (-1), and got a gimme +3 on goals the forecheck created and at least the last two he came onto the ice on a line change after puck was in the Canes zone just in time for celebration. I paid attention to Monty tonight and these plays stood out:

    1st period:
    - the play that Ruutu crashed the net he was way out of position
    - about 3 min left, he ran over Thomas and put him on his b*tt
    - on Canes goal, he skated way out to half wall chasing the puck and that created a lot of space in front of the net; he should have dropped into D position

    2nd period:
    - his icing led to a real good scoring chance by Canes
    - about half way through on a faceoff in Bruins zone he chased after the puck going out of position and Canes had a huge slapshot from middle of ice. camera view was behind goalie and Monty was 4 feet away from shooting lane because he couldnt get back
    - next shift dangerous giveaway behind the net

    3rd period
    - didnt notice him, but somehow he was +2 in the period (shift change just in time for him to celebrate).

Nothing against Monty, but didnt impress me here in Anaheim, and i like Hnidy's toughness. Maybe it is just my bias as a Hnidy fan. I'd just like to see the grisly vet get to play in the POs after being paired with Stuart most of the season.

Go Bruins (no matter who makes the lineup)

  1. SoCal-
regarding Hnidy; I love his toughness in his own end too, but go back and watch a game with Hnidy, and watch his outlet passes from his own end. They either never connect and go for an icing, or are an easy pick of for the opposing team in the neutral zone. I noticed this about halfway through the season, and once I noticed it sure enough it seemed to happen incredibly often. Hnidy is tough, and incredibly disciplined when opposing players are trying to agitate him, but his passing out of his own end is a huge liability, and very risky.
