Posted by Fluto Shinzawa, Globe Staff July 9, 2009 01:04 PM

The Bruins have signed Rob Kwiet to a three-year entry-level contract. The 6-foot-2, 224-pound defenseman, who was invited to development camp, will be in Providence in 2009-10.

Kwiet, who will turn 21 on Aug. 2, won the Memorial Cup with Windsor in 2008-09. Kwiet scored 12 goals and 55 assists in 66 games.

  1. I'm with u Pete. Why was he not drafted? Hopefully he is a late bloomer and will become a steal. More depth for P-Bruins.

  1. Kweit is good skater, but it was hard to keep track of the guys with just numbers on their backs.
