By incorporating full-ice puck races, in-the-corner battle drills, and sprints to conclude today's hour-long practice, Claude Julien wanted to do one thing: deliver the message that laziness will not be accepted.

"We need to grab their attention right now," Julien said. "We're looking for commitment. We're looking for effort. Attitude. I think all those things put together is what needs to happen in order for us to be the team we should be."

* Julien didn't make any changes to his lines or defensive pairings today. "I think today was about getting their attention, and sometimes it takes line changes," Julien said. "But I think it took more than a line change or a couple players moving around to get their attention and bring them back to where we want them to be. Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow."
