WILMINGTON -- Practice is under way here at the Ice Box and, as expected, Dennis Wideman, injured in the second period of Saturday's win over the Islanders, remains on the sidelines.

With Wideman in the training room, coach Claude Julien is working blueliners Matt Hunwick and Johnny Boychuk into different blueline pairings.

Zdeno Chara, who normally pairs with Derek Morris, is skating sometimes with Johnny Boychuk, who made his 2009-'10 debut in Monday's matinee loss to the Avs.

Andrew Ference, pairing with Mark Stuart, is also getting shifts with Matt Hunwick.

No sign of any callups from Providence (AHL).

Following the workout, scheduled to end soon after 11 a.m., the club will hustle aboard a charter flight for tomorrow night's game in Dallas, followed by a Saturday visit to Glendale, Ariz., to face the fiscally-tenuous Coyotes.
