DETROIT -- Good morning from Joe Louis Arena, where the Red Wings have started practice. The Bruins are scheduled to skate at the Joe at 1:30 p.m.

Detroit is coming off a 3-1 road win over Calgary in which Chris Osgood stopped all but one shot. The Wings, however, are just as banged up as the Bruins. They are without Johan Franzen (knee) and Valtteri Filppula (wrist) for extended stretches. Given Franzen's presence as a power forward and Filppula's emergence as a two-way center, their absences are just as significant as those of Marc Savard and Milan Lucic.
