With Brian Rafalski and Jonathan Ericsson out tonight, the Bruins should get an opportunity to get better looks on goal. The Bruins were blanked in their last outing against the Rangers.

"We know we've got enough in our lineup to score goals," said Claude Julien. "But those guys have to create scoring chances to make it count. That's the responsibility we have as a team to make those kinds of things happen."

* Julien confirmed that Byron Bitz (groin) will not play tonight. Julien said Bitz is day-to-day, which might make him available on Thursday against Montreal.

* USA Hockey will announce its Olympic roster during the Winter Classic on Jan. 1.

Tonight's expected lineup:

Marco Sturm
Patrice Bergeron
Mark Recchi
Blake Wheeler
David Krejci
Michael Ryder
Daniel Paille
Vladimir Sobotka
Brad Marchand
Trent Whitfield
Steve Begin
Shawn Thornton
Zdeno Chara
Derek Morris
Matt Hunwick
Dennis Wideman
Mark Stuart
Andrew Ference
Tim Thomas
Tuukka Rask
