Miroslav Satan will not play tomorrow because of a laceration on his right hand. Satan flew back to Boston today, where he's being examined by team doctors.

Claude Julien believed that Satan suffered the injury during a first-period collision last night with Steve Downie. At first, the Bruins thought Downie's skate had caused the cut. But after reviewing the video, they've determined that the knob of Satan's stick opened up the cut, which required stitches to close.

Julien didn't know how the injury would affect Satan's Olympic availability.

* Milan Lucic and Shawn Thornton have both come down with food poisoning. Both players stayed at the team hotel today.

* Steve Begin was given a maintenance day.
