The Bruins have acquired defenseman Cody Wild from Edmonton for forward Matt Marquardt. Wild, a three-year star at Providence College, has split 2009-10 between Springfield of the AHL and Stockton of the ECHL. Wild has zero goals and 14 assists in 37 games for Springfield.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound defenseman was originally drafted by Edmonton in the fifth round of the 2006 draft.

Marquardt, acquired from Columbus for Jonathan Sigalet, bounced between Providence and Reading this season. The second-year pro has one goal and nine assists in 41 AHL games this year.
