Via text message today to GM Peter Chiarelli, Marc Savard wrote that he "felt like he got hit by a bus."

"Also that he's very tired," Chiarelli said. "Those are two major symptoms of a concussion. It's a bad concussion. The degree and the level of it, we'll find out in the next 4-5 days."

Savard, who is back in Boston, has been diagnosed by Dr. Peter Asnis as having suffered a Grade 2 concussion. Asnis has not determined how much time Savard will miss.

"The fact that he was unconscious for a period of time plays into the prognosis," Chiarelli said.

While Chiarelli believes Matt Cooke will be suspended, no ruling will take place today. League disciplinarian Colin Campbell told Chiarelli that the hit will be reviewed in greater detail today and tomorrow, with a decision to be made prior to Pittsburgh's next game on Thursday.
