According to Lindy Ruff, Thomas Vanek is getting closer, but is most likely not ready to play tonight.

Raffi Torres, who has two assists but no goals in this series, will be a healthy scratch. He will be replaced by Nathan Gerbe.

"Hoping he can bring some scoring," Ruff said of the former Boston College star. "Maybe a second unit power-play guy who can add a little something for us."

Ruff emphasized the need for Derek Roy, Jason Pominville, and Tim Connolly, his most skilled forwards, to bring more offense tonight. Among the three, only Pominville has scored a goal.

"Our key players for us -- the Roys, Pominvilles, Connollys -- have got to get it done," said Ruff. "At the end of the day, they've got to get it done."
