A look at some popping numbers.

As Claude Julien said in his postgame comments, they were facing "a desperate team".

The Flyers had 35 shots on goal. The Bruins had 20.

But when you dig through the sheet you will find the following:

  • The Bruins won 58 percent of the face-offs.

  • Gritty efforts the shorthanded defensemen. Zdeno Chara and Johnny Boychuck (blocked five shots) each played 33 shifts and Dennis Wideman 32.

  • Tuukka Rask made 34 saves.

  • With the Bruins playing shorthanded because of tonight's injuries to David Krejci and Adam McQuaid, it would benefit them to close out the series on Friday to give the team a much needed break before the Eastern Conference finals.
