The coaching staff will wait until tomorrow to decide whether to dress Trent Whitfield or Brad Marchand tomorrow to replace David Krejci.

"One thing we were fortunate with yesterday was that we had five centermen in our lineup," said Claude Julien, referring to Krejci, Patrice Bergeron, Marc Savard, Vladimir Sobotka, and Steve Begin. "That's a position that's not an easy one to play. Having that, to be able to continue having four centermen up the middle certainly paid off yesterday, especially with faceoffs and the demands on those guys. It was good to have that situation. Now whether we decide to put another centerman in or whether we decide to put a winger in to fill the spot, that's the thing we have to look at. Then make a decision based on that."

The guess here is that Whitfield gets the call tomorrow. Whitfield is a natural center who can take faceoffs. He has playoff experience. He can kill penalties.

"This is what we've been staying in shape for," said Whitfield, one of eight Bruins to skate today (Marchand, Mark Stuart, Andy Wozniewski, Andrew Bodnarchuk, Jeff Penner, Tim Thomas, and Dany Sabourin were the others). "Whether it's Marshy or myself that gets the call, we feel we're ready to contribute in any way we can."

Assuming Whitfield goes in and Mark Stuart is cleared to play, here's one possible lineup:

Daniel Paille
Patrice Bergeron
Mark Recchi
Milan Lucic
Vladimir Sobotka
Miroslav Satan
Blake Wheeler
Marc Savard
Michael Ryder
Steve Begin
Trent Whitfield
Shawn Thornton
Zdeno Chara
Johnny Boychuk
Matt Hunwick
Dennis Wideman
Mark Stuart
Andrew Ference
Tuukka Rask
Tim Thomas
