Ready to rock 'n' roll here at the Vault, Bruins vs. Panthers.
Ex-BC Eagle Scott Clemmensen is one of the two Panthers goalies who will dress tonight. Jacob Markstrom is also wearing the pads of ignorance.
Former Bruin Byron Bitz is one of the Florida's 12 forwards. Fellow ex-Bruin Dennis Wideman, who scored a goal against the Bruins Thursday night in a tuneup in Rochester, has the night off.
The Garden crowd is getting its first look at freshman sensation Tyler Seguin in a pre-season game. He dressed here last week for the rookie scrums, but this is his first time showcased with the varsity.
Boston's two goalies in uniform: Nolan Schaefer and Tuukka Rask. Still no action for Tim Thomas. All three netminders will make the trip to Europe, which begins with a Wednesday night flight out of Logan bound for Belfast.
Boston strongman Shawn Thornton has the night off. Filling his heavyweight gloves is Brian McGrattan. Coach Claude Julien this morning did not rule out the possibility of the Bruins carrying both Thornton and McGrattan on regular-season roster, but there is probably too much redundancy in their skills. There are only so many fights. Not enough, mind you, for anyone to get too excited for a team to carry pair of heavyweighters.
