Tim Thomas, who didn't participate in yesterday's scrimmage, didn't practice today. Claude Julien said Thomas will practice tomorrow and accompany the team on the two-game road trip.

"No more than part of the process of giving him a little bit of rest," Julien said.

Julien said Thomas will most likely not play tomorrow or Thursday. Saturday at home against Florida might be a more likely date for Thomas to play.

* Blake Wheeler has been wearing CCM skates in training camp. Wheeler wore Bauer last year. "Didn't really work out as well as I would have liked," Wheeler said. "They're a great product, a great skate. But for me, I guess the best fit was these. I feel different. I feel a lot better. A lot quicker. A lot more like myself. I'm able to make more one-on-one moves and be effective like that."

* The Bruins will take two full squads to Montreal and Rochester. Rosters will be released either late tonight or early tomorrow.
