WILMINGTON -- Good afternoon from Ristuccia Arena, where the Bruins have kicked off practice prior to their TD Garden debut tomorrow.

Zdeno Chara is the only player not present for practice. Chara skated almost 30 minutes last night, so the coaching staff might be giving him a breather. In such cases, Chara would be going through off-ice workouts.

As expected, the Bruins are getting into power-play work early.

PP1: Dennis Seidenberg, Mark Recchi, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Nathan Horton.

PP2: Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuk, Blake Wheeler, Michael Ryder, Tyler Seguin.

Chara's absence has led to some tweaks -- Recchi at the point, for example -- but interesting to note that Matt Hunwick is off the PP entirely today.

UPDATE: Maintenance day for Chara, according to Claude Julien. Chara went through his usual off-ice workout.
