Tim Thomas will be gunning for his sixth straight win tonight to open the season. If Thomas gets the win, he'll tie Tiny Thompson for the best start by a Boston goalie.

"He's been good for us. He's really been good," Claude Julien said. "He's at the top of his game. He feels great. It's a long season, so we've got a hot goaltender here that we're probably going to ride tonight."

* Jason Spezza (groin) will play tonight. Spezza will center Peter Regin and Alex Kovalev.

* Ottawa will be without Milan Michalek (knee) for at least one week. Cory Clouston said the team would be fortunate to get Michalek back in that timeframe.

* Congratulations to director of hockey administration Ryan Nadeau and wife Taryn, who welcomed their second child last night. Kelton Terry Nadeau joins older sister Finley.
