timthomas.jpgBruins goalie Tim Thomas was named the NHL's Second Star of the Month for October. Thomas won all six of his starts in October and posted league-bests in save percentage (.984), shutouts (3), and goals-against average (0.50).

Lightning forward Steven Stamkos was the first star and Avalanche forward Chris Stewart the third.

Thomas posted back-to-back shutouts against the Senators and Maple Leafs, and was the NHL's First Star of the Week last week.

Stamkos had nine goals and 10 assists in October. Stewart had 16 points on nine goals and seven assists.
