The Bruins, down 3-0 in tonight's second period to Los Angeles at TD Garden, rallied for three straight goals to send the game into overtime. At 13:44 of the third period, Patrice Bergeron scored a power-play goal to tie the game at 3-3.

In the shootout, Michal Handzus gave the Kings the 4-3 win by scoring the only goal.

After Jarrett Stoll gave the Kings a 3-0 lead at 2:50 of the second, the Bruins stormed back with two straight strikes. Jonathan Quick, brilliant in the first (14 saves), sprung a rare leak on Boston's first goal. Blake Wheeler threw a bad-angle shot on goal that dribbled through Quick at 4:30 of the second.

Then at 11:57, during a delayed penalty on the Kings, Gregory Campbell made it a one-goal game. Quick got in front of a Shawn Thornton slap shot, but Campbell won the race for the rebound and lifted a shot over the goalie to cut LA's lead to 3-2.

Less than a minute later, Stoll had a point-blank shot in front. But Tim Thomas made his best save of the night when he gloved Stoll's shot, keeping it a 3-2 score.

The Kings struck twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. Brad Richardson gave his club a 1-0 advantage when he snapped a shot over Tim Thomas's glove 44 seconds into the game.

Then at 11:17, the Kings doubled their lead. Bergeron stepped in front of a Davis Drewiske shot, but Michal Handzus corraled the rebound and beat Thomas.

Before each Los Angeles goal, Quick made Grade-A stops. In the game's first minute, Quick threw out his blocker to get a piece of Michael Ryder's shot from the slot. Later on the same shift, Richardson scored LA's first goal.

Later in the first, while the Bruins were on the power play, the former UMass netminder stopped a David Krejci attempt. Quick then regained his positioning to stop Nathan Horton's followup bid. At the other end, Handzus scored the Kings' second goal.
