It's a final here. The Bruins have throttled the Lightning, 8-1, at TD Garden, giving Boston back-to-back victories in two days. Goaltender Tim Thomas improves to 13-2-1.
19:01 - Simon Gagne headed to the penalty box on a roughing call. Boston on the power play.
13:55 - Boston 8, Tampa Bay 1 - Blake Wheeler has made this a real laugher. Wheeler beat goalie Dan Ellis to give Boston its first eight-goal output since Dec. 18, 2008.
7:28 - Boston 7, Tampa Bay 1 - The Bruins are running away with this one. Mark Recchi has joined the scoring party, beating goalie Dan Ellis from the slot during a power play.
1:50 - Boston 6, Tampa Bay 1 - Michael Ryder has given the Bruins their first five-goal lead of the season. Ryder beat goalie Dan Ellis from the high slot, with his slapper eluding the netminder to the stick side.
00:34 - Boston 5, Tampa Bay 1 - David Krejci has potted his second goal of the game. Krejci's shot from the right circle beat goalie Mike Smith over the glove, chasing the netminder in favor of Dan Ellis.
Marc Savard report - Through the first 40 minutes, Savard skated 15 shifts and was on the ice for a total of 10 minutes, 59 seconds.
17:30 - Boston 4, Tampa Bay 1 - Shawn Thornton has restored the Bruins' three-goal lead. Once again, Lightning goalie Mike Smith was caught out of position. Smith and defenseman Victor Hedman had a mix-up in front of the Tampa Bay net and Thornton took advantage of it, driving the net and rapping the puck in.
15:14 - Boston 3, Tampa Bay 1 - The Lightning got on the board on a goal by defenseman Victor Hedman. Sean Bergenheim dished a pass to Ryan Malone, who relayed the puck to Hedman, who directed it past Bruins' goalie Tim Thomas.
14:38 - Bruins' defenseman Johnny Boychuk puts a rocket shot on goalie Mike Smith but he absorbed it into his body. Despite having played in Philadelphia last night, the Bruins have maintained their energy level and pace throughout so far. Having Marc Savard back in the lineup certainly hasn't hurt.
6:48 - Boston 3, Tampa Bay 0 - Milan Lucic has potted his 12th tally of the season, giving the Bruins a three-goal lead. The Bruins finished off a three-on-two break with David Krejci in the slot, finding Lucic off to the right of goalie Mike Smith. Lucic directed the puck inside the left post.
5:59 - Nice bid by Bruins' forward Shawn Thornton. Save by goalie Mike Smith.
4:57 - Tampa Bay back at full strength.
2:57 - Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman is in the box for a trip on Mark Recchi. Boston out on the power play.
Marc Savard report - Savard looked very comfortable and confident in his return to the ice. He played 4 minutes, 52 seconds over seven shifts and looked strong in the faceoff circle.
19.7 seconds remaining - Boston 2, Tampa Bay 0 - Defenseman Dennis Seidenberg has given the Bruins a two-goal lead heading into the first intermission. And he did it in the most unusual way. He had the puck outside the Tampa Bay blueline and made as if he was going to dump in puck. Goalie Mike Smith, who looked as if he was following the dump-in to go out and handle it, was completely shocked when instead, Seidenberg fired the puck on net instead. Smith was faked out and the puck was in the net.
16:19 - Brad Marchand gets whistled off for roughing. Tampa Bay is on the power play.
15:18 - The Lightning put a lot of pressure on the Bruins in their end, with center Nate Thompson and Martin St. Louis battling on the doorstep but goalie Tim Thomas holds them at bay.
10:52 - Boston 1, Tampa Bay 0 - David Krejci has given the Bruins a lead. Milan Lucic, along the left boards, chipped a backhand pass to Krecji, who was on the left side of the blue line. He charged into the left circle and snapped a shot past goalie Mike Smith to the short side.
8:51 - Stamkos out of the box and back on the ice.
6:51 - Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos has been whistled off for a slash. The Bruins are going on the power play.
5:56 - Right after Brad Marchand has a chance for Boston in the Tampa Bay end when he tried to go short side on goalie Mike Smith, the Lightning followed that with a flurry in front of goalie Tim Thomas but Thomas, as he so often has this season, held the fort.
Bruins' center Marc Savard is playing his first shift since last spring's playoffs, when he was forced to the sidelines because of post-concussion symtoms. As expected, Savard received a very warm welcome back from the fans at TD Garden.
