TAMPA -- With 19.7 seconds remaining in regulation, Mark Recchi snapped a power-play wrister through Dan Ellis to give the Bruins a 4-3 win over Tampa Bay at the St. Pete Times Forum. Steven Stamkos was in the box serving a boarding call after dumping Gregory Campbell at 18:50.

Brad Marchand scored the go-ahead goal early in the third. After Ellis stopped Shawn Thornton's shot, Marchand scored on the rebound at 3:00. But the Lightning evened the game yet again when Martin St. Louis beat Tim Thomas at 10:50.

After trading goals in the first period, the Bruins and Lightning did the same in the second. The Bruins pulled ahead by a 2-1 margin at 3:28. The Lightning killed off a too many men call. But eight seconds after the power play expired, Steven Kampfer rapped a shot from the left circle that beat Ellis. It was Kampfer's first NHL goal.

The Lightning tied the game at 14:02 on a Vincent Lecavalier wraparound. Tim Thomas, making his sixth straight start, bit on Lecavalier's approach, then couldn't recover in time to stop the center's tuck at the far post.

The Bruins struck first during an early double minor on Sean Bergenheim (roughing, cross-checking). The Bruins lost the offensive-zone draw, but Dennis Seidenberg picked off Tampa Bay's clearing bid. Seidenberg found Mark Recchi, who ripped a shot wide of the net. The puck glanced off the end boards to the stick of Michael Ryder. The right wing had a wide-open look and hit the back of the net at 0:28 of the first.

The Lightning answered with their own power-play goal later in the first. With Adam McQuaid in the penalty box, the Lightning converted at 7:10. From the right post, Ryan Malone drove to the net, intending to deliver a cross-crease pass to Stamkos. Thomas read the play and tried to cut off Malone's pass. But the puck got through to Stamkos, who jammed a shot under Thomas and into the net to tie the game at 1-1.
