Greetings, blog dawgs, from Causeway Street, where the Bruins have wrapped up their morning skate on the Vault's ice in preparation of tonight's Adams-Division-throwback tussle with the Buffalo Sabres.

Andrew Ference, first member of the Black-and-Gold to touch ice this morn, will be back in action for the first time since getting dinged up Jan. 13 vs. the Flyers.

The oft-injured Ference, who played in every game this season before having to sit out the last three, will sub in for rookie blueliner Adam McQuaid. Coach Claude Julien noted that it was an opportune time for Ference to return because McQuaid also has been banged up of late and could use a respite.

Tuukka Rask, loser of two of his last three starts, was the first 'tender to leave the morning tuneup, a signal that he probably will get the nod tonight over Tim Thomas. The Tank picked up back-to-back wins this week over the Canes and now hasn't suffered a loss in regulation time since Dec. 20, going 7-0-3 (.850)in 10 games since pre-Christmas loss to the Ducks.
