According to TSN, Patric Hornqvist was fined but not suspended for his elbow to Tyler Seguin's head last night. The elbow required Seguin to have stitches to reattach part of his left ear lobe. The hit cost Hornqvist $2,500. The forward was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct Thursday night.

After the game, Barry Trotz didn't think Hornqvist's elbow merited a penalty.

"When I watched the replay, Hornqvist had his elbow out," said Trotz. "Then as he goes into Seguin, he brings his elbow in. He actually puts the brakes on and sort of turns. When I looked at it, I really didn't think it was a penalty."
