SHOOTOUT

Bruins win, 3-2, on Seguin's lone goal in the shootout.

Nash fails on backhand.

Seguin scores with doorstep forehander, stick side on Mason.,

Tyutin misses with forehander near left post.

Bergeron's forehander doesn't cross line under fallen Mason.

Upshall fails with backhander over net.

OVERTIME

Tied, 2-2, after 65:00 and headed to shootout.

0:18 to go, Mason pockets Bergeron wrister. Jax, 36-29, shot lead.

B's continue to give multiple looks around Rask's net. Very loose. But Jax just can't coax winner into net. 1:00 to go.

2:25 to go. Inching toward shootout.

Bruins called for icing with 2:45 to go. Play halted. Maintenance issue on glass behind Mason's net. New pane of glass inserted. Change takes less than three minutes. Could GIANT do bettah?

B's with three good chances in opening 30 seconds of overtime--two by Krejci, one by Lucic. Best flurry of night takes over 60 minutes.

THIRD PERIOD

Tied, 2-2, after 60:00. Headed to 4-on-4 OT.

\ 15:52 -- Rask with brick wall treatment on Voracek at right post. Still 2-2.

15:24 -- Krejci, 2 minutes, crosschecking.

14:24 -- Bruins tie, 2-2. Peverley with shorthanded strike, carrying two-thirds length of the ice and finishing off dynamite play at left post.

13:06 -- Horton, 2 minutes, holding stick.

12:19 -- Jax, 2-1. B's allow too many kicks at the can. Upshall finally pots 15-foot sweep shot from slot. Umberger and Vermette the helpers.

9:35 -- Tremendous glove save by Rask, denying Dorsett's free shot from inner edge right circe off weird carom from rear boards.

7:18 -- Brassard swat at right post nearly eludes Rask. Still at 1-1.

Paille-Campbell-Thornton line challenged for style points, but not short on pluck.

Change in Boston scoring: Chara's goal in second period was tipped by Krejci, credited with 11th goal of season.

Play underway.

SECOND PERIOD

Tied, 1-1, end of two periods. Bruins still with very little zip and yet to go on power play. By no means a statement game after going 0-2-2 in last four games.

18:49 -- Seidenberg in for tripping Calvert.

12:20 -- Bruins tie it, 1-1. Chara uncorks slapper from five feet inside blue line, tipped home by Krecji. Mason loses in crowd around net. Assists to Boychuk, Chara.

Marchand lands short-range wrister at 11:53. Pushing at whistle. Hope no one gets angry. Jax still with 1-0 lead.

Question to ponder: which of these teams holds the No. 3 spot in the conference, and which one currently is a DNQ? Halfway through second period, Jax with 21-14 shot lead. Bruins not skating or hitting. Looks like coffee pot was spiked Shinzawa's favorite decaf.

3:45 -- Thornton, minor for holding Calvert.

Rubber has met the road for Period Two.

FIRST PERIOD

Bruins control faceoff dot in first, winning 11 of 17 drops. However, not engaged enough in the heavy lifting. Jax with 10-7 edge in hits.

First 20:00 in the books. Jax, 1-0, on strength of 12-10 shot advantage. Slow start for Bruins, but show signs of shaking out of it over back half of period.

19:07 -- Jax, 1-0. Clitsome hammers slapper from 45-50 feet, beats Rask on glove side. Nash and Boychuk in front, but looked like Rask had good view of it.

18:03 - Sharp wrister by Peverley off rush. Good stop by Mason. Bruins rolling same ol' same ol' four lines.

Bruins waking from their doldrums. Showing eagerness to shoot, even if shots are low-percentage changes. Jax now with 10-9 lead in shot. Still no score.
10:43 -- Bergeron minor penalty, interfering with MacKenzie.

10:38 -- In a moment of utter comedy and futility, Recchi sets up Horton alone at right post with cross-crease feed and Horton stickhandles too long, never gets shot at wide-open right side of net. The late Ned Martin, of Red Sox play-by-play, would have hollered, ''Mercy!''

Lukewarm start for the B's. Jax ahead on shots, 8-2, with 6:05 gone.

Seguin, who practied at right wing in the morning, riding on left side with Kelly (C) and Recchi (RW).

Three whistles in opening minute, including the Bruins drawing a ''Lewie'' for too many men on ice at 0:57.

Rask in net for Boston. Opposed by Mason in Jax net.

Puck is down at 7:07 p.m.

Puck drop about 10 minutes away here at the 'Wide.

As expected, Michael Ryder won't play tonight, coach Claude Julien giving the underperforming winger (1-2--3 last 11 games) the night off.

Tuukka Rask led the club out to the ice for the pre-game warmup. Looks like he'll get the call in net.
