THIRD PERIOD

Bruins hold for 1-0 victory. Perfect 6-0-0 road trip, outscoring opposition, 20-9. Only second time in club history Bruins win all six games of road trip. Last time: Feb. 1972, when they last won Stanley Cup.

Total 33 saves for Tuukka Rask.

Senators, timeout, with 51.4 seconds to go.

Bruins kill penalty, still hold 1-0 lead.

With 3:37 to go, minor Boston penalty (Marchand, hold) sets up Sens with potential game-tying power play.

Only 5:00 to go in regulation. B's still with 1-0 lead.

1:43 -- Bruins, 1-0. Horton makes easy tap in front after a Marchand attempt at top of crease. All the heavy lifting on the goal done by Patrice Bergeron, with great work shielding puck on rear wall and in corner.

SECOND PERIOD

All done after two periods. Still nothing but goose eggs. Senators with 24-15 shot lead. Boston charter flight home will be full of zzzzzzzzz's. And we're not talking Zdeno.

19:40 -- Butler nearly scores first goal of the night, but his shot from right wing circle bangs iron, top right corner. Play goes under video review with 14.6 seconds remaining in period. Aftrer lengthy delay, it is ruled no goal.

Seconds after Recchi denied, Spezza streaks down ice on breakaway and is turned back by Rask. Sens with 18-10 shot lead. Bruins play is dull.

5:55 -- Recchi denied at top of crease, his shot blocked by defenseman Derek Smith. Great feed across by Patrice Bergeron.

Even more empty seats after 20 minutes. It is a school night, so that could be some of it. Appears empty seats have gone viral.

First period in the books. Mercy. No score.

Still 0-0 with 5:29 to go in first. Lots of empty seats throughout the buildings. Locals reluctant to be eyewitnesses.

Ryder with a flashy rush around the 7:30 mark, fails to beat Anderson with hard wrister.

6:18 into first period, still 0-0. Sens with 3-2 shot edge. Better than being locked in a room with a timeshare sales staff, but not much.

Like a funeral home here at Scotiabank Place. Sens fans feel the 2010-'11 has been embalmed.

Tuukka Rask in the Boston net, opposed by Craig Anderson.

Game on.
