UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Tonight at Nassau Coliseum, the Bruins held a 2-0 goal in the second period. But the Islanders, energized by a goal with two ticks remaining in the second, scored three more in the third period to record a 4-2 win over the Bruins.

Michael Grabner netted the equalizer at 1:28 of the third. Jack Hillen scored the game-winning goal at 5:58. Hillen's shot from the left point bounced off Dennis Seidenberg and caromed past Tim Thomas to make it a 3-2 score. PA Parenteau was credited with an empty netter after he was dragged down by Patrice Bergeron with Thomas off the ice.

The Bruins are winless in their last four games.

The Bruins, up 1-0, doubled their lead with a rare occurrence: a power-play goal. The Bruins had entered the night on an 0-for-19 tumble. In the first period, they shot blanks on both power-play opportunities.

At 11:28 of the second, ex-Bruin Milan Jurcina was sent off for holding. Then at 12:36, Frans Nielsen cross-checked Zdeno Chara, giving the Bruins a 53-second five-on-three power play. With two extra skaters, even the Bruins couldn't botch their opportunity. David Krejci, stickhandling near the left circle, spotted Chara with his stick ready to fire at the right point. After taking a tape-to-tape pass from Krejci, Chara brought the hammer down on a one-timer that beat Al Montoya at 13:02.

But the Bruins allowed a killer goal late in the second. At 18:45, Brad Marchand took an ill-advised interference penalty on Josh Bailey. With two seconds remaining in the period, Matt Moulson beat Thomas with a close-range shot to make it a 2-1 game. John Tavares set up the goal with a nifty backhand pass from behind the net.

The Bruins scored the only goal of the first period. Montoya got a piece of Milan Lucic's shot from the slot. But Nathan Horton, driving to the net, fought off a Tavares backcheck to tap the rebound home at 16:29.
