Following the victory, coach Claude Julien said Steve Kampfer, who did not play in the third period, ''Obviously got his bell rung.''
Team doctors, said Julien, ''wanted to be cautious'', leading them to keep Kampfer out of the final 20 minutes. The rookie defenseman will be examined again today by doctors, add the coach.
If Kampfer is concussed, as expected, he will miss at least a week of action. With Andrew Ference still out with an undisclosed injury, the Bruins most likely would call up Pittsburgh homeboy Matt Bartkowski from Providence (AHL) for Saturday's game here against the Penguins.
