Bruins-Canadiens series at Garden Thursday and Saturday

Updated, 12:40 p.m. Monday: The TV information for the series has been added.

The NHL just released its schedule for the first round of the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs and the Bruins will begin their opening round with the Canadiens at the Garden with Game 1 (Thurs.) and Game 2 (Sat.), each matchup beginning at 7 p.m.

The series, the fifth between these storied franchies since the spring of 2002, then switches to Montreal for Game 3 on Monday, April 18, and Thursday, April 21.

The Bruins, losers to the Devils today in their final regular-season game, are off tomorrow, then will tuneup with practices in Wilmington Tues. and Wed. before Les Glorieux come to town on Thursday.

Saturday, April 16, 2011, 7 p.m., Montreal at Boston (Versus, NESN)
Monday, April 18, 2011, 7:30 p.m., Boston at Montreal (NESN)
Thursday, April 21, 2011, 7 p.m., Boston at Montreal (Versus, NESN)
