"They're a little bit of a bigger team," Claude Julien, after practice, said when comparing the Flyers to the Canadiens. "They do have some skill up front. Montreal had some skill up front. Everybody's questioning their goaltending. But their goaltending has always seemed to do the job. It's one of those situations where I think a lot of what has to be done is about us more than about their hockey club and what we have to change from our point of view."
For the most part, Philly is the same group as the one that climbed out of the 3-0 ditch last year. The Bruins have more differences. Tim Thomas will be in goal instead of Tuukka Rask. Dennis Seidenberg is healthy. They've added Nathan Horton, Gregory Campbell, Tomas Kaberle, Rich Peverley, and Chris Kelly via trade.
Also, David Krejci is looking to finish the series. Krejci was knocked out in Game 3 when Mike Richards ran him over and dislocated his wrist.
"It was tough," Krejci said. "Last year could have been the year. I'm not saying that if I didn't get hurt, that would have happened. Who knows, right? Maybe we would have played in the conference finals against Montreal. Everybody would have been comfortable saying we could beat [Montreal] and be in the finals. It was heartbreaking. It was tough to swallow. But this is another year."
* Before the start of full practice, the Bruins went through power-play drills. They went 0 for 21 in the first round.
PP1: Tomas Kaberle, Johnny Boychuk, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Nathan Horton/Michael Ryder.
PP2: Zdeno Chara, Dennis Seidenberg, Patrice Bergeron, Mark Recchi, Rich Peverley/Brad Marchand.
The Flyers scored 13 shorthanded goals this season, second-most in the league.
"When you score the amount of shorthanded goals they've scored, it has been addressed and will continue to be addressed," said Julien. "They kill a little differently. Obviously a little more aggressively with the intent of scoring shorthanded goals. We're going to have to be aware of that. We're confident that we're going to get our power play going."
