Zdeno Chara, out for Game 2 because of a virus, participated in the morning skate. Claude Julien acknowledged he saw improvement in Chara, but wouldn't commit to saying his captain will play tonight.

"As we speak, it's looking good," Julien said. "But I can't stand here right now and say he's a definite in."

Chara was smiling during the shinny game at the beginning of the morning skate. Chara led the post-skate stretch. The bet here is that Chara plays.

* Tim Thomas was the first goalie off the ice, indicating he will start tonight. However, Julien would not discuss any lineup issues. That goes counter to Peter Laviolette, whom Julien cited yesterday when saying he would not talk about his goalies, injuries, or lineup. Laviolette reversed his tracks by announcing this morning that Brian Boucher would start for the Flyers tonight. "I like the page from the other day," Julien said with a smile. "I didn't like this morning's page."

* Tyler Seguin remained on the ice after most of his teammates left for the room. Seguin hinted he would not play for the third straight game. "I'll do what I can do and be ready in case I get the call," Seguin said.
