Game 2 recap: Canadiens 4, Bruins 3
Just 64 seconds into the game, Mike Cammalleri beat Tim Thomas on a penalty shot to set the tone for a Montreal win at the Bell Centre on Dec. 16. Cammalleri was given the penalty shot after some stickwork by Zdeno Chara and Steven Kampfer.
"It's a pity that the game has to ultimately be decided by a penalty shot call in the first two minutes where I didn't even see the penalty," said Thomas after the loss. "Let alone the penalty shot. When I was mentally preparing for the game, I didn't foresee that."
Blake Wheeler, Marc Savard, and Milan Lucic scored goals for the Bruins.
* David Krejci threw down with Cammalleri after taking exception to a hit. It was Krejci's first NHL fight. Krejci opened up a cut on Cammalleri's face. "These little guys, they play like that -- little elbows," Krejci said. "The ref, it's hard for him to see. It's no big deal. I don't like when they do that. I don't like when they do it on me. That's what happened."
* P.K. Subban flattened Brad Marchand with an open-ice hit. Marchand would say it was one of the hardest clobberings he's ever absorbed.
