NEW YORK -- Good afternoon from Madison Square Garden, where the Bruins will take on the Rangers tonight. This could be a preview of the first round.

The Bruins went through an optional morning skate. Tuukka Rask, Steven Kampfer, Shane Hnidy, Michael Ryder, and Shawn Thornton were the only players to skat. Thornton practiced without a shield, but will most likely be unavailable tonight. Thornton said when he gets clearance, he plans to play without a visor.

Puck drop: 7:30 p.m.

The Rangers are coming off a 3-2 shootout win over Philadelphia. Erik Christensen scored the only shootout goal. Expect Henrik Lundqvist to get the nod tonight... Stephen Walkom and Dennis LaRue will be the referees. Thor Nelson and Mark Wheler will be the linesmen.
