Adjustments required on power play
My next job coaching the power play will be my first. So with the number of people requesting my expertise totaling zero, here's my take on what the Bruins should do tonight.
I would stack up the first unit with my best players. Keep them on the ice for 1:30.
PP1: Tomas Kaberle, David Krejci, Patrice Bergeron, Milan Lucic, Zdeno Chara.
Kaberle plays the point. Krejci is the left-side half-wall man. Bergeron down low, looking to walk the puck out of the left corner for shots or dishes. Lucic high guy in the slot for snap shots and as second screen man. Chara in front for screens and rebounds.
PP2: Kaberle, Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley, Michael Ryder, Nathan Horton.
Kaberle stays on the point. Can be on for full two minutes if he promises to shoot. Seguin on the left-side half-boards. Peverley in the left corner. Ryder high slot man. Horton down low.
