Tim Thomas named Sporting News' Goalie of the Year
The Sporting News is out with its NHL awards, and Bruins goalie Tim Thomas was named Goalie of the Year.
Thomas, who is a finalist for the NHL's Vezina Trophy awarded to the league's top goalie, led the NHL in goals-against average (2.00) and save percentage (.938).
The magazine's other award winners were:
Player of the Year: Daniel Sedin, Vancouver
Coach of the Year: Alain Vigneault, Vancouver
Executive of the Year: Mike Gillis, Vancouver
Rookie of the Year: Jeff Skinner, Carolina
